How to Obtain Patents in Japan

Mr. Yaguchi, a patent lawyer of Japan, will guide us how to efficiently prepare and obtain patents in Japan. The terms used in the Japanese patent specifications are know to be very specific and the writings require highly special skills. Through these two sessions, Mr. Yaguchi will teach us how to successfully obtain patents in Japan.

Mr. Yaguchi is the former Vice Chairman of the Patent Committee of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association and an Advisor to the Patent Committee of the Software Information Center (SOFTIC). Mr. Yaguchi specializes in the fields of mechatronics, semiconductor manufacturing technology and computer software. He is a co-author of America Tokkyo no Jitsujo (Practice for America Patents) published by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation in February 2000, Bijinesu Moderu Tokkyo Nyumon (Illustrated Instruction to Business Method Patents) and Beikoku Saishin Bijinesu Moderu Tokkyo 564 (The Latest U.S. Business Method Patents 564) published by Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha, Ltd., 2000. He is currently a partner at Omori & Yaguchi, Japan as well as Omori & Yaguchi USA.
