Ayako Miura Film Festival at the International House Wednesday, October 8, 5:30 PM International House, 3701 Chestnut Street Admission $2
A Japanese film showcase will explore films based on the writings of award-winning Japanese author, the late Ayako Miura, on Wednesday, October 8, from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the International House, 3701 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ayako's writings are based on Biblical themes such as unconditional love and original sin, and have inspired millions worldwide. Films to be shown in the showcase include “Shiokari Pass” (Shiokari Tohge), “Hidden Ranges” (Kairei), and “Freezing Point” (Hyoten), the first two of which are suggested as educational films for morality by the Japanese government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology). Most of her writings became million sellers, and have been translated into more than 10 languages.
