Omori &
Yaguchi is a Tokyo-based intellectual property law firm
with offices in Tokyo and Philadelphia. It provides
non-Japanese companies and organizations with one-stop solutions for acquiring
and prosecution of patent
rights in Japan.
According to the Japanese
patent law, in order to acquire the patent right in
Japan, the Japan Patent Office requires a patent
specification prepared in the Japanese language.
With many years of
experience in serving clients mainly in North American,
United Kingdom and Europe,
Omori & Yaguchi
understands that the quality of a Japanese translation
for patent specifications is critically important.
In order to provide high quality Japanese
specifications, we have secured in-house technical translation
experts with
extensive experience in patent translations in various
fields. As a rapidly growing firm, we are actively
exploring translation partners such as translation
agencies and freelancers with proven experience, who
cares about the quality of Japanese translations.
To effectively do so, we have launched a partnership
program called the Japan Patent Translations Network (JPT Net),
where prospective translators can post their experience
and areas of expertise at no cost.
2.
How can I join the Japan Patent
Translations Network?
If freelance translators or
translation companies are interested in joining our Japan
Patent Translations Network (JPT Net), please fill out the
form below and submit it to us. We will contact
those candidates and send them a trial translation
sample. If their trial translation meets our
quality standard, the translator will be
registered to the
JPT Net's database. Then,
a translator ID will
be issued to each translator. Please note that
issuance of the ID will not guarantee an actual
translation assignment.
3.
How do I receive a translation job from Omori & Yaguchi?
Once you pass our trial examination
and
your name is registered with our JPT Net, we will
ask you to provide your translation experience as well
as your areas of expertise. When our search
criteria for prospective translators matches with the
level of your experience, we will contact you.
In order to produce
high-quality Japanese patent specifications that meet
requirements under the Japanese patent law, our Japanese
patent attorneys will carefully review the translations
and specifications before filing with the Japan Patent
Office.
